Skate Park
Concrete Surface
Inspect concrete flatwork and skate elements/terrain for spalling, cracking, gouges and differential settlement. Some minor hairline cracking is ok, but gaps wider than 1/8” can trip up a skateboard wheel and should be addressed.
Grind Rails
Inspect steel coping, edge protection, grind rails and guard rails to ensure security/stability and for any broken/cracked welds. The majority of Spohn Ranch’s steel is hot-dip galvanized, but occasionally steel will be powder-coated for an aesthetic pop of color. If powder coating has worn off, apply comparable paint as needed. If grind/guard rails are surface-mounted, inspect for loose fasteners and tighten as needed.
Signage
Inspect rules and regulation signage for damage and legibility.
Graffiti
Perform minor sticker and graffiti removal. If left too long, graffiti cannot be removed without industrial strength alternatives.
Overall Safety
Inspect the overall site for safety concerns such as standing water, debris, leaves, dirt, etc. Trip hazards should be addressed immediately. Inspect drainage systems to confirm they are functioning properly and that there is no standing water in the skatepark. Inspect floor drains and catch basins for clogs caused by trash/debris.
Pump Track
Asphalt Surface
