Preparation Review Documentation: Ensure you have access to the crane's OEM manual, previous inspection reports, maintenance logs, and any known issues. Review LOLER and BS 7121 standards for specific compliance points. Safety Measures: Implement a lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedure to isolate the crane from power. Ensure the crane is unloaded and in a stable, safe position. Set up appropriate barriers to prevent unauthorized access during the inspection. Inspect all personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure harnesses and fall protection gear are in place. Tools & Equipment: Gather necessary inspection tools, including torque wrenches, NDT equipment, feeler gauges, dial indicators, greasing tools, and cleaning supplies.

    Visual Inspection General Structure: Inspect the mast, jib, counter jib, tower sections, and base for any signs of corrosion, wear, deformation, or cracking. Pay particular attention to welds and connection points. Check for any signs of damage from external factors, such as impact or environmental exposure (rust, debris build-up). Slewing Mechanism: Perform a visual inspection of the slew ring, slew motor, and gearbox. Look for signs of oil leaks, excessive wear, or damage to the teeth of the slewing rin
