Ice Cube Machine Cleaning

1. Safety Precautions

• 1.1 Always wear protective gloves and safety goggles to prevent contact with cleaning chemicals and ice machine components.

• 1.2 Turn off and unplug the ice machine before starting the cleaning process to avoid electrical shock.

2. Materials Needed

• 2.1 Food-grade ice machine cleaner (follow manufacturer's recommendations).

• 2.2 Warm water.

• 2.3 Soft cloth or sponge.

• 2.4 Scrub brush or toothbrush.

• 2.5 Bucket or container.

• 2.6 Gloves and safety goggles.

3. Preparation

• 3.1 Empty the ice bin and remove any remaining ice.

• 3.2 Turn off the ice machine and unplug it from the power source.

• 3.3 Allow the machine to reach room temperature to prevent potential thermal shock during cleaning.

4. Disassemble Components

• 4.1 Follow the manufacturer's instructions to remove removable parts such as the ice bin, water distribution tube, and ice-making mechanism.

5. Cleaning

• 5.1 Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing the recommended amount of food-grade ice machine cleaner with warm water in a bucket or container as per the manufacturer's instructions.

• 5.2 Use a soft cloth or sponge soaked in the cleaning solution to wipe down the interior walls, surfaces, and components of the ice machine.

• 5.3 Pay special attention to areas with visible scale, slime, or mineral deposits. Use a scrub brush or toothbrush for stubborn deposits.

• 5.4 Clean the water distribution tube, evaporator, and other components using the cleaning solution and a scrub brush or toothbrush.

• 5.5 Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and free from any residues.

• 5.6 Rinse all cleaned components and surfaces with clean water to remove any remaining cleaning solution or residues.

6. Reassemble and Restart

• 6.1 Reassemble all components following the manufacturer's instructions.

• 6.2 Plug in the ice machine and turn it on.

• 6.3 Allow the machine to run through a complete ice-making cycle to ensure proper operation and to flush out any remaining cleaning or sanitizing residues.

• 6.4 Dispose the produced ice.
