Scotsman Ice Maker SCN60 Ice Maker Descaling Process: Semi-Annual

Steps:

• 1. Press & release On/Off button (the green light will blink for about a minute and the unit will shut off)

• 2. Remove all ice from the bin

• 3. Remove scoop and fold metal bar flush to bin wall

Steps:

• 5. Locate Reservoir, push tab, lift and remove cover

• 6. Push on/off lever up to shut off water

Steps:

• 7. Pull Drain plug to drain system and return plug

• 8. Use a pair of scissors to cut about ½” off the end of the squirt nozzle and add approximately half of the bottle or 8oz of premixed Scotsman Clear 1 Scale Remover into reservoir until half full

• 9. Push and hold both On/Off and Clean Reset buttons for 5 seconds (the yellow light will begin blinking) Auger motor only will operate for 10 minutes then compressor will turn on

• 10. Allow compressor to run and continue to add solution maintaining level at ½ full while unit makes ice (it can be normal to hear noises such as squealing) Compressor with shut off after approx. 40 minutes

• 11. Once all solution has been used, push down on/off lever to turn water back on

• 12. After the cleaning cycle is complete pull drain plug to drain system then re-plug

• 13. Return reservoir cover

• 14. Reinstall the back panel by tightening the thumb screws and then gently pushing on the bottom left & bottom right to snap the panel in place

• 15. Clean bin by mixing some cleaner with hot water and scrub remaining scale from bin area and around the chute where the ice comes out

• 16. Rinse bin with hot water then sanitize (1 oz of household bleach to 2 gallons of warm water)

• 17. Push and release on/off to restart ice making
