Allied K-Series ( 15 - 20 KHA): Annual Maintenance

The annual maintenance procedure focuses on B-lubrication, filters and condenser oil. The main purpose of regular maintenance is to ensure that all equipment required for production is operating at 100% efficiency at all times.

    VI-MAINTENANCE

The unit should be inspected once a year by a qualified service technician.

    A-Filters

Units are equipped with six 24 X 24 X 2” filters. Filters should be checked and replaced when necessary with filters of like kind and size. Take note of air flow direction marking on filter frame when reinstalling filters. See figure 14.

    B-Lubrication

Blower shaft bearings are prelubricated. For extended bearing life, relubricate at least once every two years with a lithium base grease such as Alvania 3 (Shell Oil), Chevron BRB2 (Standard OIl) or Regal AFB2 (Texas Oil). Use a hand grease gun for lubrication. Add only enough grease to purge through the bearings so that a bead of grease appears at the seal lip contacts.

    F-Condenser Coil

Clean condenser coil annually with detergent or commercial coil cleaner and inspect monthly during the cooling season.

Outdoor coils are made of two formed slabs. Dirt and debris may become trapped between the slabs. To clean between slabs, carefully separate coil slabs and wash them thoroughly. See figure 15. Flush coils with water following cleaning.

    D-Supply Blower Wheel

Annually inspect supply air blower wheel for accumulated dirt or dust. Turn off power before attempting to remove access panel or to clean blower wheel.
