General Warehouse Inspection

• Check for any spillages or debris in walkways and work areas.

• Ensure emergency exits are unobstructed and clearly marked.

• Inspect lighting and replace any non-operational bulbs.

• Verify that fire extinguishers are accessible and within the inspection date.

• Ensure safety signs are visible and legible.

Equipment and Machinery

• Inspect forklifts and pallet jacks for operational readiness (battery charge, tire wear, etc.).

• Check conveyor belts and other automated systems for proper functioning.

• Inspect tape machines and power tools for wear or damage.

• Verify calibration of scales and scanning equipment.

Inventory and Storage

• Perform a stock count or spot-check inventory levels for accuracy.

• Inspect shelving and racking systems for stability and damage.

• Ensure items are stored correctly, following weight limits and stacking guidelines.

• Check for expired or obsolete stock and separate for processing.

Loading and Dock Areas

• Inspect dock levelers, seals, and loading equipment.

• Check airlocks and loading dock floors for debris or damage.

• Ensure forklifts are not dragging debris into airlocks.

• Verify that all loading and unloading procedures comply with safety guidelines.

Temperature-Controlled Areas

• Check freezer/refrigeration units for consistent temperature (-19°C or other set levels).

• Inspect doors for proper sealing to avoid ice buildup.

• Ensure defrost cycles are functioning and fans are clear of obstructions.

Safety and Compliance

• Confirm all safety showers, eyewash stations, and first-aid kits are in working order.

• Verify that PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) supplies are stocked.

• Conduct a brief hazard assessment in key areas (e.g., slippery floors, loose wires).

• Confirm that any new safety measures, such as pedestrian lines or pallet rider bays, are implemented.

Administrative Tasks

• Review incident reports from the past week and address unresolved issues.

• Follow up on maintenance or contractor jobs that were scheduled.

• Update the chemical storage inventory list if changes occurred.

• Ensure toolbox talks are scheduled and conducted if needed.

End-of-Week Reporting

• Summarize findings and escalate unresolved issues to the management team.

• Prepare a report on completed maintenance and pending tasks.

• Update team leaders about planned works or improvements for the upcoming week.
