Regular maintenance is essential to keep equipment, machines and the work environment safe and reliable. It is recommended to inspect and clean water tanks at least once every six months for drinking water and annually for non-potable water.
Potable Water Cart Semi-annual Inspection
Regular maintenance is essential to keep equipment, machines and the work environment safe and reliable. It is recommended to inspect and clean water tanks at least once every six months for drinking water and annually for non-potable water.
Inspect Front and back tires for any wear
Inflate tires. The recommended pressure is labeled on the tire.
Check for proper brake adjustment on the front wheels, improper tire pressure and wear can affect proper function of brakes
Remove Wheel Bearing caps and Lubricate and pack with SAE multipurpose grease(if applicable)
Check the steering assembly, ensure that the tow bar pin assembly and nut are securely fastened to the lower fifth wheel box.
WARNING: FAILURE TO ENSURE THE PIN IS SECURED COULD LEAD TO LOSS OF STEERING AND CONTROL OF THE UNIT!
Remove the cover where battery is located and inspect the battery. Inspect condition of terminals and fuses.
Test On and Off switch to make sure pump operates and shuts off properly
Change out Water filter located in the back of the unit behind the battery and install new filter. (if applicable)
Inspect water hoses and fittings, check for any wear, kinks, damage, or leaks
Inspect charging port and test for proper charging
If applicable for potable carts with a tank, use Glyco-San Aircraft Potable Water Tank Cleaner, Descaler & Disinfectant and follow next procedures, close out work order if not applicable
