Support Cleaning Apparatus Procedure

This SOP outlines the proper use of the SCA 1200HT Support Cleaning Apparatus to safely and effectively remove soluble support material from 3D printed parts.

Wear thermal gloves and safety glasses during operation. Use Oryx-approved cleaning solutions only. Never use hot water when filling the tank. Ensure proper ventilation in the working area. Always disconnect the unit from power before cleaning, maintenance, or repairs. Do not allow aluminum or zinc to come into contact with caustic solutions.

    Operation

Select the appropriate temperature based on the build material: - ABS: 70°C - PC: 85°C - Nylon: 50-70°C (depending on thickness) - PLA/MJ: Use the Heat Off option. Set the timer using the SET button and adjust using the up/down arrows.

Wait for the water to reach the desired temperature before loading parts

Place parts in the large basket (or small parts basket if applicable). Lower the basket slowly into the tank with the cutout facing the nozzle. Ensure the liquid level remains between the MIN and MAX lines.

Press the Start/Pause button to begin the cleaning cycle. The process may take several hours, depending on the part's size and support material.

To check progress, lift the basket carefully, draining excess liquid into the tank. If parts are clean, stop the cycle by pressing the Stop button.

    Post-Operation

Remove cleaned parts from the basket and rinse them thoroughly with water. Dry the parts using air or a soft cloth.

Lower the basket into the tank and close the lids. If the unit will be used periodically, keep the temperature set at 50°C. If not in use, power off and disconnect the unit, draining the tank as needed.

Pump or Heater not working: Ensure liquid level is between MIN and MAX. Buzzer sounds: Check for over-temperature or improper liquid level. Refer to the Troubleshooting Guide in the user manual for more.

    Maintence

Allow the solution to cool before draining. Attach the drain hose to the drain tube and open the valve. Direct the hose into a drain or suitable container.

Wipe the exterior with mild soap and water. Clean the pump intake screen and drain strainer regularly.

Check local regulations for proper disposal. WaterWorks solution: Dilute 5:1 with clean water. EcoWorks: Dilute 1:1 with clean water.
