JLG | Scissor Lifts 40RTS - Daily Functional Check

Use this checklist to d to help prevent potential safety issues that could be caused by malfunctioning or damaged equipment. Things like hydraulic failure, stability issues, and other issues that can increase the risk of a tip-over or other safety incident.

JLG | Scissor Lifts 40RTS - Daily Functional Check

WARNING: TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY, DO NOT OPERATE MACHINE IF ANY CONTROL LEVERS OR TOGGLE SWITCHES CONTROLLING PLATFORM MOVEMENT DO NOT RETURN TO THE OFF POSITION WHEN RELEASED.

A functional check of all systems should be performed, under no load, once the walk-around inspection is complete, in an area free of overhead and ground level obstructions. Perform pre-load functional check in accordance with the following procedure:

Raise and lower platform several times. Check for smooth elevation and lowering. Check that high function speeds cut out at 6 in. (15.2 cm) above fully retracted platform height.
Drive forward and reverse, check for proper operation.
Check that drive brakes hold when machine is driven up a hill, not to exceed rated gradeability, and stopped.
Steer left and right. Check for proper operation
Check hydraulic oil reservoir sight gauge. Refer to Lubrication Chart.
