Gym equipment requires regular maintenance to keep it working properly. Use this checklist for regular safety checks and good record keeping help you protect your clients from injury when they’re using your equipment, and also protect you from liability in the event of an incident where someone is injured at your facility.

    At least once a month

    Treadmills: Take out some time to inspect your treadmill and treat it with routine maintenance procedures. This will make sure you get fair use out of it without needing any expensive damage repair.

    Inspect the drive belt for misalignment or any signs of wear.

    Ellipticals: Almost all gyms have an elliptical, a popular fitness machine for cardio and lower body strength. Ellipticals are, therefore, likely to see multiple users throughout the day, which warrants frequent maintenance. Any ignorance on your part can cost you high amounts for replacement or repair of expensive components.
