Maintenance Items
Assure correction factor is 2% or less (0.980 to 1.020). Tubes with correction factors over 1 cannot be used for reference testing
Oil level should be at least 6 mm above the overflow rim of the viscometer
Visually inspect tips to make sure they are clean and not damaged or deformed
Check viscometer for evidence of corrosion
Inner surface of tube smooth and clean
Replace corks as needed
Bottom of tube 10-13 cm from flasks graduated mark
