Monthly Main Air Line Draining

Drain valve cap condition

Preparing to disconnect drain cover

• Ensure shut off valve going to drain is closed.

• Close shut off valve coming from air tank.

• Close shut off valve coming from Ingersoll compressor.

• Close shut off valve going to the main line.

Shut off valve in closed position from Ingersoll prior to draining

Shut off valve in closed position from Main line prior to draining.

Removing cover

• Remove both pins on drain cover.

• Using two wrenches, carefully break the seal on the drain cover. **Be aware line may contain residual pressure**

• Remove cap from the line

Removing water from lines.

• Ensure no one will be in the way of drain

• Slowly open drain shut off valve

• Allow bulk of water to be expelled.

• Once water stops flowing, shut valve off.

Shut off valve in closed position to the drain after draining

Finishing procedure

• Reinstall Drain Cap correctly

• Reinstall pins on drain cap

• Ensure drain valve is closed

• Slowly open valve on air tank

• Slowly open valve on Ingersoll Line

• Slowly open valve to main line.

Reinstalled drain cap with both pins installed correctly.
