This SOP applies to all users operating the Formlabs Form 3L printer, ensuring consistent practices for printing, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

sopropyl alcohol (IPA) is flammable. Keep it away from heat or open flames and work in a ventilated area. Uncured resin is hazardous to aquatic life and can cause skin irritation. Avoid skin contact and never ingest. Follow local regulations for disposal of uncured resin, resin cartridges, and used solvents.

    Resin Handling and Filling

Shake resin cartridges thoroughly before use. Insert cartridges into the designated slots on the side of the printer. Remove the protective valve cover, but do not remove the bite valve as it controls resin flow. Make sure the vent cap is open to allow proper resin flow.

Place the resin tank in its designated position inside the printer, ensuring it clicks into place. Insert the mixer, with its arms facing upward, into the tank.

    Printing

Upload print files through PreForm software via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB. Select the resin type and adjust print settings.

Once the resin is loaded, begin the print via the touchscreen. Monitor the print status through the interactive display for any errors or alerts.

    Post Print

Unlock and remove the build platform by lifting it from the machine. Always use the two handles for proper grip

Use the Form 3L Finish Kit tools to clean and remove the print. Place prints in a rinse bucket filled with isopropyl alcohol or TPM to remove uncured resin. Wear gloves and protective equipment during cleaning.

    Troubleshooting

Review the PreForm software to ensure the correct orientation and support structure were used. Clean the resin tank and glass optical window after any failed print to avoid contamination

Ensure the bite valves are not blocked or damaged. Verify the resin tank and cartridges are properly installed.
