Use this maintenance checklist and follow the schedule interval for the proactive and preventive maintenance of your backhoe loader. This has been proven to lower costs by catching small service issues before they blossom into giant repair headaches.

    Carry out these operations together with those to be performed every 50, 250, 500 HOURS.

    CHANGING THE FRONT AXLE OIL

    DANGER!

    Oils, filters, the coolant and the battery are considered special waste and must be collected and disposed of according to the anti-pollution regulations in force.

    This operation must be carried out with the machine positioned on level ground and at operating temperature, so that the oil be- comes fluid and can be easily drained, which facilitates the elim- ination of any suspended solid particles.

    DIFFERENTIAL

    FINAL REDUCTION GEARS

    Carry out some forward and backward movements, stop the ma- chine and check the levels again. Always use oil of the prescribed type. (See “4.3 FUEL, COOL- ANT AND LUBRICANTS”).

    CHANGING THE REAR AXLE OIL

    This operation must be carried out with the machine positioned on level ground and at operating temperature, so that the oil be- comes fluid and can be easily drained, which facilitates the elim- ination of any suspended solid particles.

    FINAL REDUCTION GEARS

    Carry out some forward and backward movements, stop the machine and check the levels again.

    CHANGING THE HYDRAULIC TRANSMIS- SION OIL

    When changing the transmission oil, change also the filter (See “4.7.11.d CHANGING THE HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION FILTER”).

    Proceed as follows:

    This operation must be carried out at every change of the trans- mission oil.

    CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE ENGINE VALVE CLEARANCE

    Since the check and adjustment of the engine valve clearance requires the use of special tools, have these oper- ations carried out by your Komatsu Utility Dealer.
