Inspect Level Control
Remove the cover from the level control box and visually inspect the level control band safety spring. This spring should hold the rod within the the spring with sufficient tension to pull the arm to its maximum down position before the rod moves.
Inspect for Correct Reeving of the band
Inspect for Paint or dirt on the band or sheaves
Inspect for alignment of the band on right hand mounting bracket and the end sheaves.
Inspect for freedom of movement of the sheaves.
Inspect for cleanliness and freedom from oil.
Inspect for loose wires to microswitches.
Take a Photo of the Level Control Box as Inspected.

Stroke Adjustment
Operate the Open Height limit switch and listen for a click. Check for cleanliness, especially for oil or water.
Operate the Depth Limit switch and listen for a click. Check for cleanliness especially for oil or water.
Check that both open height and depth stops are in place.
Tighten the mounting screws.
Check the micrometer head to see that it is tight.
Operate the roller microswitches and listen for a click. Be sure that cams fit tightly.
Mechanical Checks
Check the cylinder nuts for wrench tightness.
Check the piston nuts for wrench tightness.
Check the slidebar capscrews for wrench tightness.
Electrical Checks
Check for cleanliness and freedom from oil. Any oil must be removed with a non-flammable solvent.
Check for burned out relay coils. This will be obvious from the odor.
Remove the arc chutes and inspect the contact points. Replace any that are badly burned. Tighten all contacts.
Manually close the contacts to be sure they close and have good spring tension.
Reset Cycle Counter so reads 000000

Hydraulic Power Unit
Check the oil and the oil filter gauge for correct level and cleanliness. If there are any signs of the slightest amount of dirt in the oil, replace or filter it.
Check for pools of oil, indicating bad leaks.
Check pressure settings for the jam nuts on the relief valves and foot valves to make sure they are tight.
Loosen tank plug to check for water in the oil. Drain all water from the bottom of the tank and tighten plus.
Take photo of the hydraulic power unit and gauges.
