Use this inspection procedure to make sure that your bulk storage tank is in good condition.

Tank Foundation
Is the Tank foundation in good condition? i.e. no broken or cracked concrete, no excess vegetation growth.
Is the plinth seal in good condition?
Tank Shell and Roof
Are the shell and roof in good condition? i.e. no evidence of pitting or corrosion.
Is the tank intact? i.e. no evidence of leakage or product stain.
Is the protective coating in good condition?
Tank Appurtenances
Are all vents free of debris?
Are the vents operating correctly?
Is the manometer clear and operating? Write the max/min readings in comments below.
Are the weld joints at manways and/or nozzles sound? i.e. no evidence of leakage.
Are flanges of piping and valves sound? i.e. no evidence of leakage.
Is the shell plate around nozzle true? i.e. no evidence of dimpling.
Is the tank gauging equipment in good operating condition?
Do the tank gauge and manual dips coincide?
Is the foam system drained?
Is the bursting disc intact?
General
Are all earth connections in good condition?
Are all non skid walkways, steps and hand rails in good conidition?
Is the tank properly labelled, e.g. product, tank ID lead warning, nozzles, etc?
Is the tank dewatered?
Is the tank still within its operational time span with regards to its cleaning/inspection/maintenance/recalibration schedule?
Is the tank dewatering drains blinded?
For the Tank Compound
Does water drain away from the tank?
Are tank compound drains clear?
Is there an absence of rubbish and vegetation growth under control?
