This complete pre-operation checklist will help you verify that the equipment you will operate is in safe working order; it will also help reduce the risk of injury to you due to defective equipment.

    Wheels/tyres

    Engine/power source

    Hydraulics

    Hoses and cables

    Outriggers, stabilisers

    Chassis, boom and scissor pack

    Platform or cage

    Decals and signage

    FUNCTION CHECKS

    Using Ground (G) and Platform(P) controls

    Security device (power isolator, keypad, smart card)

    Function enable (ignition key, foot switch, hold to run device)

    Emergency stops and emergency lowering system

    All switches, function controls (move freely, do not stick)

    Lifting functions (raise, lower, slew, tele-out, tele-in)

    Travel functions (forward, reverse, steer, brakes)

    Elevated drive speed (reduced or prevented)

    Lights, beacons, warning devices

    Alarms (tilt, descent and travel)

    Limit switches (e.g. descent, load, outreach, rotation)

    Pothole protection device (fully deploys and retracts)

    Oscillating axle locks, extending axles

    Accessories, power to platform, extending decks

    Jacks-legs, stabilisers, outriggers, levelling devices

    ALL FAULTS OR DEFECTS (8) TO BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR SUPERVISOR
