This inspection checklist will work as a critical quality control tool to ensure that your curb and gutter is safe and free of hazard. Regular inspection will help you avoid accidents and costly repairs in the future.
Subgrade prepared correctly.
Sub-base and base thickness and width correct.
Roll test done.
Curb cross section correct (width, thickness)
Radius of curb returns correct.
Driveway and lane crossing letdowns located correctly.
Gutter longitudinal grade (min. 0.5%)
Curb return longitudinal grade (min. 1.0%)
Tolerances satisfactory (max. deviation 6mm in 3m. horizontally and vertically).
Expansion joints - both sides of lanes and crossings
Contraction Joints - max. 3.0 intervals to 1/2 depth of concrete section
Expansion joints around structures (Hydro poles, hydrants, etc.)
Longitudinal isolation (bond break/emulsion) joints between curb and sidewalk
Concrete curing compound (approved).
