KM1012 Bandsaw Procedure

This SOP outlines safety procedures for setup, operation, and maintenance. It includes pre-use checks, safe operation practices like securing workpieces, and post-operation cleanup. Regular maintenance, such as inspecting and replacing the blade, is also covered. Only trained personnel should use the bandsaw, following all safety guidelines.

    - Safety glasses to protect against flying debris. - Avoid loose clothing, jewelry, and ensure long hair is tied back.

    - Inspect the bandsaw for blade damage or wear before each use​. - Ensure all guards and covers are in place and functional​. - Secure the workpiece with clamps and avoid holding it by hand. - Verify power supply connection and grounding​.

    - Turn on the machine with the blade away from the workpiece. - Bring the blade closer slowly with your foot on the beige pedal and lifting the lever on the side. - Begin the cut, maintaining a steady feed rate. - Stop the machine and wait for the blade to fully stop before removing the workpiece.

    - Power off the machine. - Clean the area and machine of any debris.
