Transformers
ENERGY CONTROL PROGRAM
Perform LOTO in accordance with the LOTO risk assessment.
Requirement
This PM must be completed by a licensed electrical contractor (certified to work on commercial high voltage) and not a Cintas partner.
All electrical/arc flash PPE must be used for this process.
De-energize all electrical power and verify LDL before performing work.
Your location should have a copy of a current building electrical drawing or a one line drawing indication the location of the panels, voltages and safety protection areas.
Transformers
After de-energizing, remove top covers and check LDL, inspect insides, inspect coils, inspect connections and insulators -remove loose dust or dirt deposits with a vacuum cleaner.
Examine the transformer for signs of overheating, deterioration, arcing, loose or broken parts, or other abnormal conditions. Torque all connections to manufacturer specifications. (Appendix 4)
Tighten all connections to the manufacture's specification.
Service Transformer
Verify that service transformer inspections are completed by the local power company. (Appendix 5)
