This pre-start checklist intends to identify defects and safety hazards before operation. The main aim of a pre-start checklist inspection is to ensure that your equipment is safe to use.

    A good pre-operational check should include:

    GENERAL WALK AROUND

    FUEL SYSTEM

    ENGINE OIL

    COOLANT - *to prevent injury, radiator cap should be removed ONLY when engine is cool*

    DRIVE BELTS

    TRANSMISSION FLUID

    HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FLUID

    HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS

    ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS - *use extra caution when inspecting batteries*

    AIR INDUCTION

    UNDERCARRIAGE

    HARDWARE AND ATTACHMENTS

    SAFETY SYSTEMS

    OPERATOR CONTROLS - *some of these checks require the vehicle to be in motion*
