General Safety Checks

• Verify that all guards, covers, and safety devices (e.g., drill chuck guard) are properly in place and functional.

• Inspect the machine’s surroundings for any hazards or obstructions.

• Check that the work area is clean, dry, and well-lit (minimum of 500 Lux at the tool tip).

• Confirm that no unauthorised personnel are within the operating zone.

Machine Inspection (visual)

• Perform a visual check for any damage (cracks, wear, loose bolts, leaks).

• Ensure the EMERGENCY STOP button is operational by testing it briefly.

• Inspect electrical connections and verify that power cables are intact and safely positioned.

• Check the main switch is in the OFF position before proceeding.

• Make sure the spindle, chuck, and worktable are clean and free of debris or obstructions.

Functional Checks

• Rotate the spindle manually to ensure smooth movement before powering on.

• Confirm that the drill depth stop is correctly adjusted for the required drilling depth.

• Verify the gear selector switch is set to the desired speed range.

Emergency Readiness

• Ensure the EMERGENCY STOP button is easily accessible.

• Run the machine and press the EMERGENCY STOP button to test it works
