Monthly Evaporator Inspection IAW IIAR-6

An evaporator coil inspection may reveal the hidden secret behind your air conditioner's poor cooling performance and/or high operating costs. “Hidden” is the right word because, in most cases, the A/C evaporator coil is sealed inside the air handler and not readily accessible to the homeowner.

    Nameplate legible and complete?

    Suitable for ammonia?

    Operation within limits?

    Adequately anchored and supported?

    Safe access for service and maintenance?

    Free from excessive vibration?

    Adequate protection against traffic hazards?

    Evaporator free from excessive ice buildup?

    Fans and motors properly guarded and protected?
