Proper maintenance of circuit breakers will enhance circuit breaker life expectancy as well as the system/equipment it supports.
TOOLS LIST: Screw drivers, multi meter,crimping tool,torque wrench,insulation resistance tester
SPARE PARTS: Contators, insulating materials, replacement fuses
Check for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion on the breaker’s exterior, including the contacts, insulators, and operating mechanisms. Clean the breaker’s exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
Check the breaker’s mechanical components, including the operating mechanism, trip unit, and auxiliary switches. Lubricate the moving parts as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Perform electrical tests, including insulation resistance, contact resistance, and overcurrent testing, to ensure the breaker’s electrical integrity.
Clean the breaker’s interior and exterior with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust, dirt, or debris.
Calibrate the breaker’s trip unit as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Keep a record of all maintenance procedures performed on the breaker, including the date, type of maintenance, and any issues found.
Sign off on the circuit breaker inspection
