JLG Vertical 1030P: Function Check

As with all heavy equipment, it’s important to inspect and maintain your and boom lifts to ensure they’re running efficiently and improving your productivity. This checklist will help you in inspecting these machines at the start of every day, at shift changes and any time a new operator takes over the machine.

JLG Vertical 1030P: Function Check

Perform a function check of all systems in an area free of overhead and ground level obstructions.

Set up machine for operation according to instructions in Positioning and Leveling Machine.

Power up machine. Ensure the emergency stop button at the ground controls shuts off power when pressed.

From the ground controls, raise and lower platform 2 ft to 3ft (0.61m to 0.92m) several times. Check for smooth elevation and lowering of platform.

Enter the platform. Ensure the platform entry gate closes and latches.

Operate the machine from the platform controls:

Ensure all platform movement stops immediately when the enable, up, or down buttons are released.
Ensure the emergency stop switch stops all platform movement when pressed.

With the aid of an assistant, check the operation of the rear wheel auto-locking brake mechanism:

Elevate the platform so it is clear of the chassis.
As the platform elevates, observe the action of the rear wheel brake. Ensure the wheels fully engage the locking tab weldments above the rear wheels when the platform is elevated and release when the platform is fully lowered.

Verify proper operation of the Emergency Lowering Valve (refer to Section 3.6 for more information on operation).
