Use this guideline for the seasonal inspection and maintenance of your tractor fertilizer spreader.

Wash and dry the spreader thoroughly

Inspect spreader and replace worn or damaged parts

If corrosive material has eaten under the paint, clean with a wire brush and touch up with primer, then repaint

Tighten all hardware

Apply a thick layer of grease to all exposed moving parts

Apply a film of biodegradable oil in crevasses and corners

Cover the spreader to protect from the elements
