Procedures for Fiber Amplifier Preventive Maintenance

Follow this procedure to regularly inspect, clean and lubricate your fiber amplifier. Preventative maintenance will increase the longevity of the machine, provide optimal cutting performance, and save fabricators money

    Use a fiberscope to inspect the fiber connector, component, or bulkhead. If the connector is dirty, clean it with a dry cleaning technique. Repeat the dry cleaning technique if the connector is still dirty

    Check the amplifier for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion on the exterior, including the contacts, insulators, and operating mechanisms. Clean the amplifier’s exterior with a soft, dry cloth

    Calibrate the amplifier as per the manufacturer’s recommendations

    Check the fiber for any signs of damage, such as cracks, breaks, or bends. Replace the fiber if necessary
