Condenser and Evaporator Coil Cleaning

Gather prior to starting work.

• Low pressure pump sprayer (1-10 gallons)

• Ace Foam N' Clean Condenser Coil Cleaner

• Expandable hose (100 ft)

• Spray nozzle

• Genie Boom (as needed)

• 1/4 inch impact

• Nut driver set

Procedure

• Review SDS

• Install garden hose at nearest hose bib and fake out to the location of the HVAC unit.

• Don PPE.

• Add cleaner to sprayer housing at a ratio of 1-3 parts water, 1 part cleaner.

• Remove power from HVAC unit via the electrical disconnect.

• Remove panels to access condenser/evaporator coils.

• Apply cleaner to coils with sprayer.

• Leave cleaner on coils for 3-7 minutes.

• Flush coils with water until all foam is removed.

• If the unit is on a rooftop, thoroughly wash down the roof to remove residual cleaner, if not removed, roof deterioration is possible. Otherwise, mark this step complete.

• Doff PPE.

• Reinstall panels on HVAC unit.

• Restore power to HVAC unit via the electrical disconnect.

• Verify proper operation of HVAC unit.

• Remove hose.

• Dispose of residual cleaner in Hazwaste drum.

• Stow all tools and equipment.

• Return unused coil cleaner to appropriate locker.
