Tool Removal

Raise tool to the top

Lock all four post locks and install lockout tag out.

Turn off the mold heater and shut the water valves off

Remove all of the upper mold bolts

Remove any vacuum/water lines from underneath of the mold and/or on the upper mold

After everyone is clear of the pit, remove lock out tag outs, pull out the platen locks and lower the tool to full bottom.

Remove lower mold bolts

Proceed to remove the tool with a large hi-low

Tool Installation

Place the mold that you wish to install on the lower platen so that the bolt slots on the lower riser line up with the "T" slots on the lower platen.

Raise the mold to about 1/2 in away from the upper riser to allow for alignment adjustment

Push in platen locks on all four corners and install lockout tag out.

Adjust the mold so that all of bolt slots on the upper and lower riser line up.

With everyone out of the press raise the tool all the way to the full up position.

Install and torque upper and lower bolts

Connect any and all vacuum/water lines to the upper and lower tool

After everyone is out of the press, remove lockout tag outs and platen locks.

Lower tool to the bottom

Change out storage cones if applicable

Check to ensure tool close height is correct of the HMI

* If you are running TPO check to ensure that the mold heater lines are only connected to the lower tool line, if you are running Shoddy check to ensure that you loop the mold heater lines through the lower and upper tool lines **

Open water shutoff valves to the mold heater and start the mold heater

Lift tool up and inspect for leaks

Inform supervisor the the tool change is complete
