Follow this procedure for a monthly fire service test and emergency communication test of your elevators to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Fire service test
Turn key to the "HOLD" position and push the second floor button. The button should not light up
Turn the key to the "ON" position. Push the second-floor button. Button should light up now.
Read and understand the next steps completely before
Push and hold the "DOOR CLOSE" button. Wave your hand in front of the door. It should still countine to close. When the doors are half way closed, release the "DOOR CLOSE" button. The door should open again. Before the doors are fully open, push and hold the "DOOR CLOSE" button again and the doors should close again. Hold the "DOOR CLOSE" button until the doors close
Push the "2ND FLOOR' button. When car starts in motion, push the "CALL CANCEL'' button. The buttons light should turn off, but it will still go to the second floor
Push and hold the ''DOOR OPEN'' button. The doors should start to open. When the doors are halfway open, release the button. Doors should start to close again. Before door closes all the way. Push and hold the ''DOOR OPEN'' button until the doors are open. Release the button and the doors should remain open.
Turn the key to the ''OFF" position. The elevator doors should close and the cart will return to the main floor.
Insert the key into the hall key switch. Turn the key to the "BYPASS" position and then back to the ''OFF'' position.
Record in the log inside the machine room
Two-Way Commutation test
Once call is answered notify the call taker that there is no emergency. Then have them verfiy our company and address
Once call is done. note if the call was good quality or not
