Use this battery maintenance checklist to ensure your battery keeps functioning as it should be. This will also help you avoid from getting a new battery by regularly checking your vertical mast.

The battery is maintenance free except for occasional battery terminal cleaning, as noted in the following.

Remove battery cables from each battery post one at a time, negative first. Clean cables with acid neutralizing solution (e.g., baking soda and water or ammonia) and wire brush. Replace cables and/or cable clamp bolts as required.

Clean battery post with wire brush then reconnect cable to post. Coat non-contact surfaces with mineral grease or petroleum jelly (vaseline).

When all cables and terminal posts have been cleaned, ensure all cables are properly positioned and are not pinched. Close battery compartment cover.
