Blaster Weekly Inspection
Inspections should be an essential for any organization, regardless of their field of business. These inspections have several specific functions that include: Identifying already existing or potentially hazardous conditions. Determining the underlying causes of those hazards.
Inspect blower wheel paddles for damage or wear of more than 50%. Replace worn paddles and control cage as complete set.
Inspect ducting for any leaks. Repair any leaks found.
Visually check elevator belts and pulleys for wear and alignment. Listen for any unsynchronized sounds that may be an indicator of possible issue that will need investigated further.
Inspect and grease all bearing on augers, elevators, gearboxes and shaker tables. Replace any bearings that have excessive play.
Check cleanliness of control cabinet and cabinet cooler. Clean dust from inside and on top of cabinet. Clean or replace cooler filter and blow out the cooling unit coil fins.
Check belts for tension and wear. Replace as needed in sets.
Verify stroke of shaker table ( Pan and counter balance is 13/16 of an inch) -
Visually Inspect the blast cabinet for any holes and repair as necessary. Perform an exterior visual check and an interior check by turning lights off inside and looking for any light through gaps.
Inspect welds inside the cabinet for cracking and separation. And schedule repair if necessary
Visually inspect for any bolts that are eaten up by shot in all areas inspected.
Inspect wear plates for any damage, check plate alignment and check gaps. Repair or replace any deficiencies found.
Inspect fingers for wear. If signs of bubbling or metal exposure on any layer then replace or schedule replacement.
Inspect slot seals from inside with lights out. Should see no light through slot seals. If worn, or damaged, and unable to adjust then replace
Inspect Slot Brushes from top of blaster. Brushes should be almost close to touching.
