Annual Gas Heater Inspection

A gas safety inspection is a test of gas appliances to make sure they're operating safely and efficiently. While gas safety inspections primarily focus on appliances, they also cover safety devices, flues and air vents.

    Warning: This inspection should be performed by trained personnel wearing PPE

    Inspect burner/control compartment

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Clean all dirt, lint, and grease from combustion air opening and venter assembly

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Clean all dirt, lint, and grease from fan blade, fan guard, and motor

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Check heat exchanger both internally and externally

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Check burner for scale, dust, or lint accumulation

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Check gas valve to ensure that gas flow is being shut off completely

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Check vent or vent/combustion air system for soundness and clean openings

    • Pass

    • Fail

    Replace any parts that do not appear sound

    Check for any damaged wiring and replace as necessary
