Forklift Daily Inspection Checklist

Complete this inspection for each powered industrial truck at the beginning of each shift. As a safety inspection, it is important to inspect each item. Turn in this checklist to your supervisor at the end of each shift. All defects must be reported to your supervisor. If there are any safety defects, you must coordinate with your supervisor to take the lift out of service immediately. All safety defects must be fixed before the lift is placed back in service. Some examples of safety defects include fuel leaks, overheating, problems with the seatbelt, brakes, horn, steering, or anything that could make the lift unsafe to use. If you’re unsure about any defect, talk to your supervisor or safety coordinator before using the lift.
