Creamer and Sweetener Sureshot Sureshot Dispenser Monthly Maintenance

The Creamer and Sweetener Sureshot Sureshot Dispenser Monthly Maintenance helps you in performing inspections, minor repairs, cleaning, and upkeep, rather than waiting until something breaks down to take action. This will help you avoid unanticipated downtime due to equipment failure.

Valve Assembly and Front Panel (Portion-Control Models)

The valve assembly holds the tube in place and guides the plunger. It also may contain electronic devices to assist in temperature control and valve door open/close indication.

Prior to taking the valve assembly apart,prepare containers of

warm, clean, soapy wash water

warm, clean rinse water and

sanitizing agent

Do not dislodge ant attached wires during cleaning

Removing and cleaning the valve assembly and front panel

Turn the dispenser off and unplug it

Open the door of the dispenser

Open the valve door by turning the thumbscew counterclockwise

Remove the dairy bag, bag-in-box or tank from the dispenser

Remove the catch tray (if applicable )

Remove the four screws that attach the front panel to the dispenser

Squeeze the back grommet at the top left of the front panel and pull it forward to release it and the wires from the panel. This can take some effort.

Clean the front panel and screws

If a dishwasher is available, the front panel maybe cleaned on the full washed cycle. Otherwise, wash thoroughly in warm , soapy water with the screws

Rinse well with warm , clean water.

Wipe dry with a soft cloth to prevent spotting

Remove the screw at the top of the metal valve insert of the valve assembly .If the metal valve insert has a thermistor attached to it , remove the metal valve insert in step 11. Otherwise you can remove it now. Set aside these parts for cleaning.

There is only one thermistor wire for each dispenser. For dispenser with more than one product, the thermistor wire is attached to the metal valve insert located in the left valve.

Firmly hold the valve body assembly (the spring may push the valve assembly forward when removing the screws). Remove the two screws from the upper corners of the valve body . Set aside the screws for cleaning.

Gently remove the valve door, plunger , and spring from the valve body. The metal valve insert and reed switch sensors have wires that are attached to the dispenser.

These wires go through the valve body. Remove the metal valve insert and reed switch from the valve body by pushing them forward so that the wires can slip trough the wire cut-outs on the valve body.

Remove the round plastic spring retainer from the solenoid. Because the metal valve insert and the white reed switch wires are threaded through an eyelet on the spring retainer, it cannot be fully removed from the dispenser .

Clean the valve door, valve body, plunger , and screws in warm, soapy water . Rinse thoroughly , then sanitized and air dry.

Clean the metal valve insert , reed switch , and spring retainer by dipping them carefully in clean, soapy water. Rinse in clean water then very carefully wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.

While cleaning the parts, examine the valve door and body to check the hinges . If you see any broken parts , replace these immediately. Broken hinges can result in over dispensing .

Wipe the valve block with a clean , damp cloth .

Before you reassemble the valve , check to see if there is product buildup inside the solenoid . If necessary , use a plastic knife and damp cloth to clean the area.

Reinstall the valve assembly and front panel

Install the plastic ring (spring retainer) snugly onto the solenoid with the flat section at the top so that the eyelet where the wires are fed through is on the right side.

Position the spring onto the plunger

Place the plunger and spring into the solenoid , ensuring the plunger tip is positioned horizontally , and the back of the spring is pushed up against the plastic ring. Ensure the spring is centered on the plastic ring.

Install the reed switch and metal valve insert into the valve body by sliding the wires through the wire cut-outs on the valve body . If the metal insert does not have a thermistor wire attached to it , you can wait and install it in step 7.

Attach the valve door to the valve body.

With the valve door open and attached to the valve body, push and hold the valve body firmly to the dispenser otherwise the spring may push the assembly forward. While doing this , install the long screws to secure the valve body to the dispenser.

Tighten until snug, but do not over tighten.

If not done in step 4 , install the metal valve insert

Install the short screw to secure the metal valve insert to the dispenser . The screw must fit snugly so that the refrigeration system operates properly. Do not over tighten.

Make sure that the valve door is installed before tightening the screws because you will not able to install the valve door after the assembly has been installed.

Gently pull he wires back through the eyelet to ensure they can be moved freely and they are not pinched in the spring or hanging down.

Close the valve door by turning the thumbscrew clockwise . Do not over tighten.

Reinstall the front panel with the four screws that were removed earlier and saved for reuse. Make sure you slide the front panel up so it is between the valve body and the plunger.

Close the door of the dispenser

Plug in the dispenser and turn it back on

Place a spare tube in the valve and close the valve door.

Press any button that will dispense product . Listen for the solenoid to open and close (you should hear a click) to make sure that the plunger is moving freely and operating properly. Once verified, the spare tube can be removed.

Load product into the dispenser

Valve Assembly (Non-Portion Control Models)

Turn off the dispenser and unplug it .

Open the door of the dispenser .

Open the valve door.

Remove the dairy bag, bag -in- box, or tank from the dispenser.

Remove the catch tray (if applicable)

Remove the four screws to carefully remove the front panel.

If a dishwasher is available, the front panel may be cleaned on the full wash cycle. Otherwise , wash thoroughly in warm , soapy water.

Rinse well with warm clean water

Wipe dry with a soft to prevent water spotting.

Remove the screw at the top of the metal valve insert of the valve assembly. If the metal valve insert has a thermistor wire attached to it, remove the metal valve insert in step 10. Otherwise you can remove it now . Set aside these parts for cleaning,

There is only one thermistor wire for each dispenser. For dispensers with more than one product, the thermistor wire is attached to the metal valve insert located in the left valve.

Firmly hold the valve body assembly ( the spring may push the valve assembly forward when removing the screws). Remove the two screws from the upper corners of the valve body. Set aside the screws for cleaning.

Gently remove the white valve body , valve body, and the dispense handle using an even force. Set aside these the screws for cleaning.

If you did not remove the metal valve insert in step 7 , remove it now by pushing it forward so that the attached thermistor wire can slip through the wire cut-out on the valve body. Otherwise skip this step.

Remove the plunger and spring.

Clean ,rinse and sanitize the removed parts.

While cleaning the parts , examine the valve door and body to check the hinges. If you see any broken parts, replace these immediately .

If the metal valve insert is attached to a thermistor wire, clean it by carefully dipping it in warm, clean , soapy water .

Rinse in clean water then carefully wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth. Thoroughly air-dry the parts.

Wipe the spring cup clean and carefully wipe around the valve block with a clean, damp cloth .

Reassemble the valve body, plunger, spring , and dispense handle.

Install the metal valve insert into the valve body by sliding it and the wire through cut-out on the valve body.

If the metal valve insert does not have a thermistor wire attached to it , you can wait and install it in step 14-g.

Install the valve door to the valve body.

Position the plunger tip into the hole in the metal plate that is attached to the dispense handle.

Place the spring over the plunger so that it fits flush with the back of the plunger.

Insert spring into spring cup and align the assembly (valve door & body, plunger, and dispense handle )onto the dispenser

Replace the two longer screws into the valve . Tighten until snug, but do not over tighten .

If not done in step 14-a install te metal valve insert.

Install the short screw to secure it to the dispenser. The screw must fit snugly so that the refrigeration system operates properly . Do not over tighten .

Close the valve by tightening the thumbscrew clockwise until the valve door is snug. Do not over tighten.

Replace the front panel with the four screws.

Close the door of the dispenser.

Plug the dispenser in and turn it back on.

Load product into the dispenser

examine the door gasket for damage . Make sure it seals properly and there are no holes or gaps

Wipe the gasket using a soft cloth dampened with warm, clean, soapy water. Use a small brush to reach all the corners and crevises.

Wipe using a soft cloth dampened with warm, clean water .

Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth

Close th e door of the dispenser
