Note: Equal hanger loading is critical for smooth operation, long machine life, and minimal vibration of the support structure.
Step 2: Measure the distance “X” between the end of the hanger yoke and the hanger bracket.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 for Hanger 2. The measurements across the diagonals should similar.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-3 for Hanger 3. The measurements across the diagonals should similar.

Step 6: Repeat steps 1-3 for Hanger 4. The measurements across the diagonals should similar.

Step 7: Subtract the smallest measurement from the largest measurement.

Step 8: If the difference in Step 7 is greater than 0.025” the machine must be shimmed. If not, the machine is balanced
Step 9. For shimming, take the difference obtained in Step 7 and divide it by two. Place the nearest sized shim (or combination of shims) in the gap of the hanger with the largest measurement

If the gap above the shim has become larger than the previously un-shimmed gap, remove shim and repeat all steps. If the machine is still not balanced, contact BM&M for assistance
