- Trigger a work request or work order in MaintainX:
- When a driver submits a DVIR in Samsara
- By syncing your Engine Mileage or Engine Hours data from Samsara to meters in MaintainX, and establishing a threshold for when maintenance is required
- Route the DVIR Title, Defect Description, and Location information directly from Samsara to MaintainX
- Receive a notification when a DVIR is created in Samsara and a work request or work order has been generated in MaintainX
- Resolve the Samsara DVIR automatically once the work order is completed in MaintainX
How it works
STEP 1:
Connect with your dedicated account representative to understand your existing workflows and objectives for integrating MaintainX and Samsara.
STEP 2:
Identify members of your team that will be part of testing and implementing this integration — such as members of your Operations, Finance, and IT teams.
STEP 3:
A MaintainX integration consultant will meet with you to determine the scope of the integration before providing the cost and statement of work.
If you decide to move forward with this integration, your MaintainX integration consultant will add custom fields and map existing fields so your data — including DVIRs, equipment utilization, and maintenance information — flows between MaintainX and Samsara.
STEP 4:
Test the integration with your team. Start developing internal training material to set your users up for success.
STEP 5:
MaintainX and Samsara are now in sync. You can boost efficiency across your maintenance team, reduce fleet downtime, and take a proactive approach to overall fleet health.

Can we review/assess the work requests that are triggered by the Samsara integration?
Yes, you can review and approve or decline the work request in MaintainX. If approved, you can assign it to a team or a specific technician and monitor the progress from start to finish.
How frequently can data be sent between MaintainX and Samsara?
Data can be sent as quickly as every 10 seconds; however, most clients configure the integration to send data every hour or every day.
Our drivers take photos and attach them to their DVIRs in Samsara. Will those photos be added to MaintainX?
Yes, photos in DVIRs will be added to MaintainX automatically.
Will the MaintainX work request or work order be routed to the correct Samsara asset or location?
Yes, the work request or work order will be routed automatically. Your MaintainX integration consultant will assist you with mapping to the correct asset or location.
