There are no dog days of summer at MaintainX, with this month’s release of Work Order Templates keeping the summer energy flowing for our customers.

We updated the MaintainX mobile app five times in August, as we continue to set the standard for fast and furious innovation in maintenance management.

In addition to Work Order Templates, which enable teams to streamline and standardize work order management, MaintainX added a range of new features to help frontline teams communicate better and log work more accurately.

Simplify and Standardize Maintenance with Work Order Templates

Work Order Templates give you the power to pre-fill any work order field when a new work order is created. This enables your technicians to quickly create and close work orders without having to attach procedures or manually enter details like asset, parts, location, priority, or due date.

For technicians in the field, creating a work order becomes as easy as scanning a QR code on an asset and selecting a template associated with that asset. This greatly simplifies recurring reactive jobs or PMs that don’t happen on a schedule. And it means you can capture the right data every time, without relying on technicians to remember things like location codes or which procedure to attach.

Customize Category Icons to Fit Your Workflow

Work Order Categories help you organize different types of work to extract specific insights when you’re pulling reports. When you’re able to categorize your maintenance work effectively, you can get a better understanding of how certain types of work are being performed, and where your resources are going, when you pull work order reports.

Now, you can customize icons for each Category, enabling you and your team to quickly recognize the Category of each work order. Using images instead of text helps ensure technicians can correctly categorize work orders.

“Pin” Message Threads to Stay Connected with Important Updates

MaintainX is built to help frontline teams communicate–but when a lot of messages come through in a short period of time, identifying the most important messages is difficult.

Now, you can “pin” your most important conversations to the top of your Messages list. Critical updates and announcements will no longer get lost among your messages, even when you are bombarded with information or requests throughout the day. Simply click “Pin Conversation'' to stick it to the top of your list.

New Purchase Order Customization Adds Flexibility to Your Process

Over the past few months, we’ve added even more functionality to our Purchase Order module, including approval rules, approvals on mobile devices, custom line item fields, and more.

Just this August, we’ve added the ability to:

  • Customize the starting ID (or starting number) for a Purchase Order. This will help you get started running POs through MaintainX with zero disruption because you can add your latest PO number as the starting ID, instead of having to start from 1.
  • Display custom fields directly under the PO title or description when you export a PO as a PDF. Ask your Account Manager to set this up for you if it fits your current process.
  • Add Purchase Order comments using the MaintainX API.

Customer Feedback Powers Continuous Improvement

As always, customer feedback drove these slick improvements.

We appreciate all the feedback we receive. We always encourage our customers to tell us how we can do more to support their daily maintenance and operations.
